Step-By-Step Instructions To Unpack The Zebra ZT420

Here’s how to unpack a Zebra ZT420 printer safely and correctly:

1. Prepare the area
• Place the box on a flat, stable surface
• Make sure you have enough space (the ZT410 is heavy—about 36 lb / 16 kg)
• If possible, have two people lift it
2. Open the box
• Cut the packing tape on the top of the box
• Open the top flaps fully
3. Remove top packing materials
• Take out:
• Foam inserts
• Accessory box (usually contains power cord, cables, documentation, media adapters)

Set these aside

4. Lift out the printer
• Grip the printer from the bottom, not by:
• The media door
• Control panel
• Any protruding parts
• Lift straight up and place it on a solid surface

Do not tilt the printer excessively during lifting.

5. Remove protective materials
• Remove:
• Plastic bag around the printer
• Any foam blocks or tape inside the printer
• Open the media door and check for internal packing foam (very important)
6. Inspect contents

Verify you have:

• Zebra ZT420 printer
• Power cord
• Documentation / quick start guide
• Any ordered options (peeler, cutter, Ethernet, etc.)
7. Save the packaging
• Keep the box and foam in case you need to transport or return the printer
