Step-By-Step Instructions On How To Load Ribbon And Media On The Zebra ZT410
Here’s how to load ribbon and media on your Zebra ZT410 step-by-step:
Load Ribbon and Media – Zebra ZT410
- Open the printer
- Lift the media door on top.
- Rotate the printhead lever to open the printhead assembly.
- Load the Ribbon (thermal transfer only)
- Put the ribbon roll on the ribbon supply spindle (back spindle).
- Make sure the ribbon unwinds from the bottom toward the printhead.
- Pull the ribbon under the printhead.
- Wrap the ribbon around the ribbon take-up spindle (front spindle).
- Turn the take-up spindle a few times to tighten the ribbon.
- Load the Label Media (labels)
- Place the label roll on the media supply spindle in the back.
- Pull the labels forward.
- Guide them:
- Under the media guides
- Under the printhead
- Over the platen roller
- Slide the media guides so they lightly touch the edges of the labels.
- Close and calibrate
- Push the printhead lever down to lock.
- Close the media door.
- Press FEED on the printer.
Only do this if you are using thermal transfer labels. Direct-thermal labels do not use ribbon.
Tip: The inked side of the ribbon faces the labels.
The printer may feed a few labels to calibrate the sensors automatically.
Important tips
- Ribbon should be wider than the labels to protect the printhead.
- If labels skip or show errors, run Media/Ribbon Calibration from the printer menu.
