October 20, 2014 – IBM 4400 Series Has Become End of Life
The IBM 4400 Thermal Label Printer line has reached end of life and parts are no longer available. Effective immediately, service or supply parts for these printers will be unavailable. This Series of printers include model IBM 4400-004, IBM 4400-006 and IBM 4400-008.
These printers were released back in 2000. They were compact, rugged printers designed for printing bar codes, shipping and inventory control labels, labeling for chemical and hazardous materials and compliance labeling. These printers offered print speeds up to 10 inches per second, flexible media handling, print density of 203 and 300 dpi, and print widths up to 8 inches.
It is recommended that if you have one of these printers, you should be upgraded to the newest Printronix T5000r series printers including the T5204r, T5206r, T5208r, T5304r, T5306r, and T5308r. Printronix was the OEM for IBM. The Printronix T5000r thermal line bar code printer offers many benefits and a excellent replacement option for the IBM 4000 Series.
