October 28, 2014 – Printronix P5000 Series End-of-Life
Printronix recently announced that effective January 1, 2015, the Printronix P5000 Line Matrix Printer Platform shuttle repair and spare part availability is being discontinued and will cease to exist.
That’s right only 2 months away. So for those of you with a P5000 Series printer, including the P5220, P5015, P5215, P5210, P5010, P5205B and P5005B line printers, it is now time to seriously consider upgrading to a Printronix P8000 Line Matrix printer line. Doing so now will help mitigate the potential for costly disruptions, downtime and delays if and when your printer stops working or requires servicing after January, and you are without a functioning printer and then forced to make the rush decision on purchasing a replacement. Investigate now and plan ahead.
To assist you in this process, I will briefly outline some of the key benefits the Printronix P8000 line offers. Like the P5000, the P8000 is a very rugged, versatile and cost effective printer option. This series of printers offer many advantages, from its fast throughput speed, compact modular enclosures, and durable metal construction engineered to provide quieter acoustics, to its new larger user interface and remote printer diagnostics, and backward-compatible cartridge ribbons improving ordering and installation and lowering inventory management costs. These features combine to offer a very reliable and low cost printer designed specifically for the industrial and office environments.
One of the best options is to get your Printronix P5000 series line printer covered under a contract. MIDCOM offers Fix or Replace ProtectionSM printer service contracts.
