Step-By-Step Instructions To Install The Cutter On The Zebra ZT111
To install the cutter on a Zebra ZT111 printer, follow these troubleshooting and reset steps:
Installing / Using the Cutter Mode on ZT111
- Open the printhead assembly
Rotate the printhead lever upward so the printhead pivots open.
- Slide out the outer media guide
Pull the outer media guide all the way out to allow room for feeding media through the cutter. - Load the media properly
- Feed the media (labels) so that it passes through the slot of the transmissive media sensor.
- Ensure it goes under the inner media guide.
- Then feed it through the cutter slot.
- Adjust guides
Once the media is through the cutter, slide the outer media guide back in until it is just touching the edge of the media, to keep it aligned.
- Close everything up
- Lower the printhead lever until it locks.
- Close the media cover.
- Insert the cutter catch tray (if included or optional)
Place the catch tray in the front slot under the cutter to catch cut media.
- Configure the printer to Cutter Mode
- Go into the printer’s menus → Print Menu → Label Position → Collection Method. Set it to Cutter (or Delayed Cut if you’re using that mode).
- Exit “Pause” mode if the printer was paused. Press PAUSE to resume.
- Calibration / Test
- It’s a good idea to calibrate the media and ribbon sensors for best accuracy.
- Print a configuration or test label to verify that the cutter is working (cut after each label as expected). Some manuals say hold FEED + CANCEL for ~2 seconds to print configuration.
