To clear a media out error on the Zebra ZT211 thermal label printer is fairly easy and can be done within minutes.
Watch the video below.
Step-By-Step Instructions To Clear A Media Out Error On The Zebra ZT211
To clear a Media Out error on your Zebra ZT211 label printer, you can follow these steps:
Step 1: Check Media and Ribbon
– Media: Ensure that your media (labels or tags) is loaded properly and is not empty. Sometimes the error occurs if there is no media in the printer, or it is not properly aligned.
– Ribbon (if used): If you are using a ribbon, make sure it is correctly installed and has enough remaining length.
Step 2: Check the Sensor
– The media sensor might be obstructed or out of alignment. Clean the sensor carefully and make sure it is not blocked by dust or debris.
– Adjust the sensor to ensure it’s correctly detecting the media. The ZT211 has an adjustable sensor depending on the type of media used (thermal transfer or direct thermal). Ensure it’s positioned properly for your media type.
Step 3: Re-load the Media
– Re-load the roll of labels (or media) in the printer. Ensure that it is placed correctly on the media spindle and is feeding through smoothly.
Step 4: Check the Printer Settings
– Make sure the media type and label width settings in the printer’s Menu are correct for your loaded media.
Step 5: Reset the Printer
– Turn the printer off and wait for about 10 seconds before turning it back on. Sometimes this can reset any minor errors or glitches.
– Alternatively, you can perform a Factory Reset by navigating through the printer’s menu (this will restore default settings, so make sure you note your configurations first).
Step 6: Perform a Calibration
– After you’ve ensured that everything is loaded properly, you can perform a media calibration:
– Power off the printer.
– Hold down the feed button while turning the printer back on. Continue holding the button until the printer feeds a few labels.
– Release the feed button. This should re-calibrate the sensor to detect the media properly.
Step 7: Check for Firmware Updates
– If you are still facing the issue, check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, a software update can resolve sensor detection or other related issues.
