Watch the video below.

Step-By-Step Instructions To Load Media With The Cutter Option On The Zebra ZT211

To load media into your Zebra ZT211 printer with the cutter option installed, follow these steps:

Loading Media with the Cutter Option

  1. Release the Printhead Assembly: Lift the printhead assembly by rotating the printhead lever upward.
  2. Adjust the Outer Media Guide: Slide the outer media guide all the way out to accommodate the media.
  3. Load the Media:
    • Roll Media: Place the roll of media onto the media supply hanger and push it as far back as it will go.
    • Fanfold Media: Insert the fanfold media through the rear of the printer and drape it over the media supply hanger.
  4. Position the Media:
    • Ensure the media passes through the slot in the transmissive media sensor and under the inner media guide. The media should just touch the back of the transmissive media sensor slot.
    • Feed the media through the cutter.
  5. Adjust the Outer Media Guide: Slide the outer media guide back in until it just touches the edge of the media.
  6. Close the Printhead Assembly: Lower the printhead assembly back into place.
  7. Insert the Cutter Catch Tray (Optional): If desired, insert the cutter catch tray into the slot on the front of the cutter.
  8. Close the Media Cover: Ensure the media cover is securely closed.
  9. Set the Printer to Cutter Mode:
    • Navigate to the printer’s settings menu.
    • Select Print Menu > Label Position > Collection Method.
    • Choose Cutter or Delayed Cut mode, depending on your preference.
  10. Exit Pause Mode: Press the PAUSE button to exit pause mode and enable printing. The printer may perform a label calibration or feed a label, depending on your settings.
  11. Calibrate the Printer: For optimal results, calibrate the printer to ensure proper media handling.
  12. Verify Printer Functionality: Print a configuration label to verify that your printer is functioning correctly.

Additional Tips

  • Cutter Blade Safety: The cutter blade is sharp. Avoid touching or rubbing the blade with your fingers to prevent injury.
  • Media Calibration: If you experience issues such as skipped labels or vertical image drift, recalibrate the printer’s ribbon and media sensors.
  • Driver Configuration: Ensure your printer driver settings match the cutter configuration to prevent accidental changes.
  • Cutter Catch Tray: Using the cutter catch tray helps collect cut labels and maintain a clean workspace.
