Step-By-Step Instructions To Complete Setup of Zebra ZT231
To set up a Zebra ZT231 industrial barcode printer, you can try these steps:
Download and install the printer driver – Go to the Downloads tab on the Zebra website and download the recommended Windows Printer Driver v10. Follow the instructions to install the driver and run the Printer Installation Wizard.
Connect the printer – Plug the printer into a USB port on your computer or connect it to a wireless network or Ethernet port.
Load media – Install the media you want to print on, such as labels, receipt paper, or tag stock. The media settings must match the media you’re using.
Configure printer connectivity – Use the Zebra Setup Utilities to configure the printer’s connectivity. You can choose between wired or wireless setup, then enter network settings details like the band, country, ESSID, network security, and WLAN password.
Set up direct thermal printing – Press Pause on the printer, then raise the media door and open the print head assembly. Pull out both media guides, remove some labels from the roll, and place the roll on the label supply guide. Flip the yellow media supply guide vertically and press it against the roll, then feed the labels through the printer. Align the media supply guide against the edge of the labels, and align the first label’s end with the printer’s tear bar. Finally, lock the print head into place and close the door.
