Step-By-Step Instructions To Unbox The Zebra ZT231
Here’s a clear guide to unboxing and setting up your Zebra ZT231:
- Unbox Carefully
- Slide the ZT231 out of its packaging.
- You should find the printer, power cord, USB cable, and a Quick Start Guide
- Keep the box and packing materials in case you need to ship or store it later
- Make Connections
- Remove any port blocking tape from the USB port.
- Plug the USB cable into the printer and your computer
- Attach the power cord and plug it into a 100–240 VAC outlet
- Power On
- Locate the power switch (typically on the side or back) and turn the printer on
- Open Media Bay
- Lift the front media/printhead cover to access the inside
- Release Printhead
- Unlock the printhead latch (lever or knob), lift it, and expose the platen & media path
- Load Media & Ribbon
- Insert your label roll and, if using thermal transfer, load the ribbon correctly following diagram instructions.
- Close the printhead (lever back down).
- Calibrate & Test
- Press the PAUSE button; the printer will auto‑calibrate, feed labels, tighten the ribbon, and align media
- Print a test label to verify everything is feeding and printing correctly
